LINDA L. NORTHRUP
Linda Northrup, a founding partner of Northrup Schlueter, was admitted to the California Bar in 1981 and founded the firm as a sole practitioner in 1996. She has been representing individuals and institutional clients in sophisticated business, real estate, construction matters and general liability for her entire legal career. Ms. Northrup regularly acts as lead trial counsel and handles related appeals in the California state and federal courts. She is admitted to the United States Supreme Court and was successful in preserving a defense judgment in favor of her client handed down by the trial court and affirmed in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals by defeating a petition for certiorari. Ms. Northrup has been involved in real estate matters for over 20 years and has represented clients including real estate and construction professionals in both residential and commercial purchase, sale, lease, finance and construction transactions ranging from single family homes to multi-story commercial buildings and developments.
Ms. Northrup has been handling complex general liability matters for her entire legal career, including personal injury, property damage and casualty matters involving both construction sites and accident and injury cases involving product and equipment liability for manufacturers and distributors as well as property owners and managers.
Ms. Northrup also handles all aspects of appellate work, including appeals from judgments in the trial court and interlocutory writs in both the state and federal courts.
Linda Northrup was appointed as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Agoura Hills in 2011 and elected Chair of the Planning Commission in 2015. Ms. Northrup was elected to the Agoura Hills City Council in 2015, and presided as Mayor of Agoura Hills in 2018-2019, overseeing the City’s recovery from the Woolsey Fire disaster. Ms. Northrup was instrumental in developing a mentoring program for local law students called the “Life After Law School” program offered through the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and is active in Habitat for Humanity and other local charitable organizations.
