Mathew R. Groseclose


Associate

Mathew R. Groseclose joined Northrup Schlueter as a law clerk in 2007 and became an associate of the firm upon his admission to the bar in 2009. While in law school, Mr. Groseclose participated in both the trial team and moot court programs at Pepperdine University School of Law, winning regional and national competitions and was admitted into the Order of the Barristers. Prior to joining Northrup Schlueter, Mr. Groseclose clerked for Professor Douglas W. Kmiec, who now serves as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Malta.

Mr. Groseclose has briefed and argued law and motion matters on a variety of issues, including business tort litigation, in the area of unfair competition and unfair trade practices, and construction, real estate and general liability cases. He is involved in the firm's appellate practice, drafting briefs regarding writ relief and civil appeals. Mr. Groseclose was instrumental in drafting the briefs that resulted in the grant of an emergency Writ of Supersedeaus by the Second District Court of Appeal in favor of the firm's client in a pending litigation matter. Mr. Groseclose participated in a two week bench trial involving real estate and easement issues in 2009. He is an active alumni of Pepperdine and participates in panel discussions on law practice and judges moot court competitions involving law students from all around the United States.
